Where to buy Bulk organic/heirloom seeds?

Those small seed packages dont have enough seeds...
and the survival stores that have prepackaged cartons of veggie
seeds dont have enough variety. So where to get organic or
heirloom seeds in bulk, or at least in larger packages???

Not sure if they do "bulk", but I've always had good luck with Territorial Seeds:

Territorial is good.

I recommend Johnnyseeds(.com) catalog to support all the extra information they provide.

They have VERY large quantities available. Truck-farm size. A #10 tin can of seeds and you have to worry if you have enough time and space, not if you have enough seeds. They also come in cans (paint-can style) which improves storage, particularly with mice.

If you're sharing/selling as an idea, however, you'd want the individual packs which have info, not the #10 can which a buyer can't tell from random seed. Planting seed is not eating seed, as it's vetted, put to dormancy, and proofed a lot better, that's why the cost is so high.

Don't forget to plant a variety of trees and vines.

After your 1st yr I imagine you can pull seeds from the veggies/fruit and save them for next year, correct? Does anyone have a source for info on how exactly to do this?

Thanks

I found this company, which seemed like a family business or not much larger, to have good prices and excellent and friendly personalized service.

I got open pollinated or non hybrid seeds by the pound because I plan to share seeds with others. I do not think enough garden seed is produced to meet the demand if many have to take up gardening to have enough to eat all in the same year. Connie was extremely helpful.

But here are some additional good seed sources. You have to look for non hybrid, or open pollinated in some because they sell both.

I particularly wanted varieties adapted to my hot dry climate in things like corn, so I was very interested in Hopi corn, for example. And most seed companies are far north of me and much wetter. But here are some good ones.

Several here, like southern exposure seed exchange, specialize in open pollinated. But companies that don't sometimes have that elusive perfect variety.

Some are much more expensive than others too. Sometimes they have better seeds, and sometimes not. Parks has excellent seed, for example, but in small and very expensive packets, and just a few open pollinated. Seeds of Change also has excellent seed, also very pricey. I have had good results with my bulk seeds from less expensive sources.
